The Sanctuary
Malcolm’s Manor is located in Colfax, NC and sits on a secluded spot on 7 acres of land. A custom barn has been built on the property which accommodates approximately 20 cats. Although the cats do not roam free on the property they have an enclosed outdoor area off the back of the barn. The barn is insulated and has a heater and air conditioner for year round comfort. There are no cages in the barn so everyone must get along! Occasionally there is some fussing but so far this has not been an issue. New or sick cats will be isolated from the cats in the barn to prevent the spread of disease, and may temporarily be put in cages. The existing house on the property is a 1200 square foot brick house with a large basement for storage. The eventual plan is to convert the house into the main part of the sanctuary, housing 50+ cats. Outdoor enclosures will be built for the house as well. There will be separate rooms in the house for cats with FIV and Felv and for isolating new and sick cats.
